Questions Fargo Homeowners Ask Before They Call
Fargo Garage Door Pros answers common questions on service area, hours, and what we repair for homes built 1969-2006 across the Fargo area.
Do you work on houses outside Fargo itself?
Yes. We regularly travel to West Fargo, Harwood, Horace, Mapleton, Argusville, Kindred, and Casselton, along with right around our shop. If you're near one of those areas, call and we'll figure out if a trip makes sense.
Why does my garage door act up more in winter?
This area sits in a severe cold climate band, and springs, cables, and weatherstripping all behave differently once temperatures drop hard. Steel contracts, lubricant thickens, and a spring that was marginal in October can snap in January. It's not your imagination - cold is a real factor here.
How old is my opener likely to be?
Housing in our service area was mostly built between 1969 and 2006, with a lot concentrated in the 1980s and 90s across our seven covered areas. If your house falls in that range and the opener hasn't been replaced, there's a decent chance it's original or close to it, which affects what parts we bring.
Can you just fix my door instead of replacing it?
Often yes. Spring, cable, roller, and track repairs are common and usually cheaper than replacement. But if several parts are failing at once or the track is badly bent, a full replacement can end up costing less over time than repeated repairs. We'll tell you which situation you're in before we start work.
Do you have online booking?
Not right now. Call (701) 356-8386 directly to schedule. That keeps the person booking your job the same person who knows what parts are on the truck that day, which matters for a quick, accurate visit.

Who You Are Dealing With
We're a garage door repair company working out of 215 Broadway in Fargo, ND. We don't sell windows or gutters on the side, and we're not a call center routing you to a sub-contractor three counties over. When you call, you're talking to the people who show up at the house.
We work mostly on torsion spring systems, chain and belt-drive openers, steel and aluminum panel doors, and the tracks and rollers that hold them together. Most of what we see fits the housing stock here, which went up between 1969 and 2006, with a lot of it dating to the 1980s and 90s across the seven named areas we cover. That means a mix of openers from different eras still bolted to the same ceiling joist, and hardware that doesn't always match the door it's attached to anymore.
We don't do new home construction framing or structural garage additions. If your opening needs to be re-framed before a door goes in, that's a carpenter's job, not ours. We're straight about that up front so you're not waiting on us to figure it out on-site.

Contacting Us
Call (701) 356-8386. That's the number that reaches us directly, not a dispatch queue.
When you call, have the basics ready: the rough age of the house if you know it, what the door is doing (won't open, stuck halfway, opener runs but door doesn't move, loud bang followed by the door sticking), and whether it's a single or double door. A broken torsion spring on a double door is a different job and a different part than a snapped cable on a single, and knowing which one you've got before we arrive saves time on both ends.
We're at 215 Broadway, Fargo, ND 58102, and that's also where parts and hardware get pulled from before a truck heads out. We don't publish online booking or live chat right now - phone is how jobs get scheduled, which keeps the person answering the phone the same person who knows what's on the truck that day.
What We Actually Do
Spring replacement - mostly torsion, sometimes extension on older setups
Cable repair and roller replacement. Track realignment when a door's come off its rails. Opener repair and replacement, including swapping out chain-drive units for belt-drive where the homeowner wants quieter operation. Panel replacement when one section's been hit or rusted through, assuming the rest of the door and its track are still sound.
Here's the honest limit
If a door's track is bent badly enough, or the springs, cables, rollers, and opener are all failing around the same time, replacing the whole door usually costs less than nursing an old one section by section. We'll tell you that instead of running up a repair bill on a door that's done.
We don't install new openings, build garages, or do electrical panel work beyond what's needed to wire in an opener
We also don't carry every opener brand's parts on the truck every day - older or less common models sometimes mean a short wait on a specific part. That's not something we can promise around; it's just how parts supply works for hardware that isn't current anymore.
