Who You Are Dealing With
Fargo Garage Door Pros is a repair outfit based at 215 Broadway in downtown Fargo, working on doors, springs, openers, tracks, and panels for houses across the metro. We don't sell a lifestyle or a brand story - we fix the thing that's broken or stuck, tell you what it costs, and do the job. If a door needs more than a repair, we'll say so instead of patching something that's going to fail again in a year.
Most of what comes through our phone line is the same handful of problems: a torsion spring that let go, a cable off its drum, an opener that stopped responding, a track bent from a car backing into it. The housing stock across this service area was mostly built between 1969 and 2006, with the bulk of it going up in the 1980s and 90s across seven named neighborhoods. That means a lot of original hardware from that era is reaching the point where parts are harder to source, and homeowners are deciding between another repair and a full replacement. We can walk you through that decision on the phone before we ever send someone out.

Contacting Us
Call 701-356-8386. That's the fastest way to get a real answer about a broken spring, a dead opener, or a door that won't move. Tell us what the door is doing - won't open, won't close, grinding, off track, remote not working - and we can usually tell you over the phone whether it's a same-visit fix or something that needs a part ordered first.
Our address is 215 Broadway, Fargo, ND 58102, if you'd rather stop in than call. We don't run a storefront with retail hours for browsing; it's the base we work out of. If you leave a message, include your phone number and a short description of the problem - that's usually enough for us to call back with a time estimate instead of just a callback.
What We Actually Do
We handle torsion and extension spring replacement, cable repair, broken roller and hinge swaps, track alignment, opener repair and replacement
And panel damage from vehicle impact or wind. We work on both single and double doors, including the older one-piece and sectional styles still common on homes built in the 1970s through 1990s across this area.
What we don't do is cosmetic refinishing or custom architectural door builds
If that's what you're after, we're not the right call. And because winters here fall into the severe end of a cold climate band, we pay attention to how cold affects steel springs and nylon rollers; a spring that's fine in July can snap in January just from the metal contracting. That's not an upsell, it's just how the hardware behaves here, and it's part of why we ask what the weather's been doing when you describe a sudden failure.

Frequently asked
Straight answers about garage door repair in Fargo. Still unsure? Ask us directly.
Do you work outside Fargo itself?
Yes. We cover the city and the surrounding area out to places like West Fargo, Harwood, Horace, Mapleton, Argusville, Kindred, and Casselton, along with closer-in spots.
Why did my spring snap in the middle of winter?
Cold is hard on torsion springs. In a severe cold climate band like ours, steel contracts and loses some flex, so a spring that was fine in summer can snap under the same daily load once temperatures drop. It's one of the most common calls we get from October through March.
My house was built in the 90s - is my door original?
A lot of houses in this area date from the 1980s and 90s, and plenty still have their original door and opener. If yours hasn't been replaced, it's worth having the torsion spring and cables checked, since 20-30 year old hardware is past its expected service life.
Is it ever cheaper to replace than repair?
Sometimes, yes. If the track, panels, and opener are all showing wear at once - more common on the older end of the 1969-2006 range we see most - a new door can cost less than three separate repairs and leaves you with better insulation against the cold besides.
